The Challenge: When Coastal Bend College decided to redesign their website and create an online "virtual campus," they turned to Farenthold Consulting. They felt their current website did not convey the image of a community based, friendly campus.
The Solution: Farenthold Consulting's designers worked closely with the staff and students to create a design that represents the broad range of students and campuses within the Coastal Bend College network. Not only was the look-and-feel of the website important, content need to be easily managed implementing a user-friendly, secure administration area, accessible through any web browser. With complete control over images, layout and content, the Coastal Bend College staff members can now easily enhance their own unique style. Farenthold Consulting's CMS (Content Management System) automatically publishes pages to the correct section of the site after approval by appropriate department heads. A built in page editor allows the staff to paste text directly from their favorite word processor while keeping the formatting completely intact. The website has now been serving the students and faculty of Coastal Bend College for over a year and has grown to over 10 times it's original size.
