Launch of PBS site "Justice For My People"
Farenthold Consulting launches website, www.justiceformypeople.org, in conjunction with PBS documentary. Justice For My People – The Hector P. Garcia Story, a documentary produced by KEDT-TV, is the focus of a website created by Corpus Christi web design firm Farenthold Consulting.
The website, which launched the 1st of November 2002, contains unique documents, photography, and interviews related to the life and times of the famous Mexican-American civil rights leader, Dr. Hector P. Garcia. A five page biography of Dr. Garcia’s life is available on the site as well as a timeline of important events related to his work. Accompanying the is information are numerous documents digitally converted into high quality images. Visitors can browse through the Doctors notes, letters, and legal forms. By far, the most expansive section of the site is the photogallery which includes over 100 images from the early 1900’s to Dr. Garcia’s death in the mid 90’s.
The website also serves as an educational accompaniment to the documentary. Slated for viewing in many schools and classrooms, the project will be related to history and society topics taught in conjunction with materials taken from this online source. Some of the materials available are crossword puzzles, question and answer sheets, and critical thinking assignments. Teachers can download this information for free from the Education section of the justiceformypeople.org site. Once the documentary premiers the DVD or VHS may be purchased from the Justice For My People website.
